    Myooligan: Are standard shuffles standard?

I mean, will a given casino use the same shuffle at all games (obviously a pitch game will use a different shuffle from 2D, and 2D will be different from 6D)? Do casinos routinely change up their shuffle pattern? How often does one shuffle style typically last?

    Bettie: Kind of

In general, there is a "house" shuffle that dealers must learn, yes (deck #-dependant). However, don't think that the burly, tall guy is going to have the same grab size as the tiny Asian woman. If they're supposed to grab 52 cards, he may grab 60 and she, only 50 or less.

Often, a high-limit room/pit will have a more complicated shuffle, but I don't have any info on shuffle changes/lengths of time used.

ST'ing is still very hush-hush, so be aware that you might not get detailed answers (I said/will say nothing here that isn't common knowledge) on an open board.

The longest stable shuffle I ever saw was almost ten years at the Four Queens while Elsinore Corp owned it. Same shuffle lasted for years at their AC casino too.

It looks like styepladder/rnr at multiple casinos may beat this record.
