    Hollywood: Information question?

Can Anyone tell me what the affiliations are with the high end hotels in Vegas.

I'm getting close to booking my trip and would like to know who owns who? Who is correlated with who? etc.

Do any of the high end places stand alone?

Meaning, do any of them have no affiliations with any others etc?

    I would appreciate the help.

    Good cards,

Yeah, half are owned by MGM and the other half by Harrah's! Teasing, but it's very nearly true (see the running thread starting with "Harrah's Get Bigger" in the Las Vegas Everything board.

MGM/Mirage owns Mandalay, Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY (half, I think), Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Mirage, TI, MGM.

Harrah's owns Caesar's, Harrah's, Flamingo, Paris, Bally's, Rio (off-strip), plus some small joints further north.

Venetian and Wynn are the nicest joints that are currently not affiliated with any other casinos. Since there are playable games at Wynn, maybe you want to stay at Venetian to avoid any potential problems. On the other hand, I know that your act kicks ass, so that's likely not an issue.

If you'd like to stay a little further south, Aladdin is your best option. However, I did not enjoy my last stay there (that was under old management). The worst was that the walls were like paper and I couldn't get any sleep; the best was that we had a direct view over the fountains at Bellagio, which was like having our own private show every 15 minutes (you'll need to request a room with this view).

You can always stay off-strip at Palms or, if you don't mind the loud music and a much smaller venue, Hard Rock.

Looking forward to seeing you again!
