    Sidekick: Advice Needed: Losing Streak

    Greetings.

Well, after a "very" positive first time VEGAS counting trip lst weekend (Thank you MGM and your S17) I bombed in Tahoe yesterday and today. BJRM says 20% I could have done worse and my loss of $600 is in the 68% sd range so it is expected.

I completely understand my recent loss and totally understand the fluctuations, trust me, if this was my own family money I would be very upset.

Question: What do you do to cope with a lossing TRIP?

    Book?
    Drink?

    Thanks,

    Sidekick

That's a very bad sign. Whose money is it? Not yours? So, you don't care that you lost it? If it had been your money and losing it would make you very upset, then you shouldn't be playing for those stakes.

    > Question: What do you do to cope with a losing TRIP?

Play again and win the next time. :-)

    > Drink?

Yeah, that'll make you a much better player.

You're playing with somebody elses money? Cool, how do you manage that?

I don't do anything, other than accepting it. You're going to lose roughly half of your sessions, give or take. If you can't handle losing, you shouldn't play.

I admit that losing bothered me when I first started, and I concede that developing this blase attitude took a while.

Drinking is not recommended. The next day your money will still be gone, plus you will feel like shit.

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it. :-)

    Bettie: I think he meant

that the money he lost wasn't grocery or mortgage money. It's a lot easier to swallow losses when the money is specific to your bankroll; at least, that's my opinion/experience. Of course, if someone is gambling with money that should be going to pay the mortgage, they have bigger problems, by far!

I have just continued one of the best runs I have ever had.

I play on the average of 2 times a week this time of year, and have not had a losing session since the 15th of May.

It's actually the longest time I have played without a loss in my entire BJ carear.

The wins have not been extensive, Dollar wise we are talking a bit over $64,000.00.

I love this, but I know by the laws of SD, that losing sessions are right around the corner.

You can go back to old posts over the years, where I was ready to send in the towel because I was getting murdered.

I was doing nothing differntly then i'm doing now.

So, that being said, just do what I always do when I experience downsides of this life we have chosen.

Go back to the bible, and read chapter 2.

I always feel peace when I read that. BJA OF COURSE

When the count is on pluto and I have my max bet on the table and I get an eleven and I double and get a five, I keep telling myself SD SD SD SD SD SD SD SD SD SD SD SD, and then I try and find out which sleeve the dealer pulled that five from.

I know you have heard it all before, but you must play right through the bad side and he good catches up with it.

    Good luck,

    Hollywood

    nycfudu: how to cope?

Go back there and beat 'em

If you can't go back just give the casino a big FU

Read your vegas report... I suggest wonging in at 2 with 2*25 and going upto 2*50 at 8

Also you should consider playing some SD and DD downtown and off strip. When you get to higher stakes it will be tough to play these, so might as well play em while you can.
