Hollywood: A note to all of you
Not that you nice people don't know this already.
But, as Mr. Schlesinger reminds us in his book, it does not matter if we are winning or LOSING if they suspect we are counting.
I recently had a big number done on me at a casino, while I was down some big bucks.
They are looking at the big picture and don't care if we are LOSING when they bust us.
I will tell the whole story in a few months when it's cold.
I have had people on many occasions feel they are safer when they are losing. Trust me, that's not the case.
This is just a reminder,

If they've determined, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you are counting, doesn't it make perfect sense that they bar you when you're losing, so that you have no chance of getting your money back? Why permit you to continue?
On the other hand, if you are already winning, but they are sure you are counting, doesn't it make sense to put an immediate stop to the winning?
In short, whether you are winning or losing shouldn't matter at all. If they are certain you're counting, they should want to stop you immediately.

No, it certainly is not the case.
