    Warning: I am a newbie. What is the difference in SCORE outcome between the betting guidelines given in Carlson's book(specfically tables 7.8-7.11) and CVCX? Thanks in advance.

    Carlson's advice is not what we call optimal betting. But, to answer your question would require the number of decks you're playing against, the precise rules of the game, and the bet spread you intend to use.

    You'd have to tell us if you are using the I18 or more indices.

    Likely conditions-62/104 h17 das ns or surr 1-8 spread, 4.5/6 6d h17 das ns or surr 1-8, resplit aces and sp3 for both dd and 6d. Also, assume all indices from -10 to +10. You mentioned that his betting scheme is not optimal; what does the betting strategy address? Thanks in advance.

    This should be pretty close to what you want. Note, too, that 1-8 is totally inadequate for the shoe game, so I'm going to give you 1-16, as if you had asked for that, as well. :-)

    His betting scheme is more of a practical nature, based on, but not strictly, optimal wagers.

    For the DD game:
    TC <= +2: 1 unit
    TC = +3: 2 units
    TC = +4-+5: 4 units
    TC = +6: 6 units
    TC >= +7: 8 units

    6-deck:
    TC <=+2: 1 unit
    TC = +3: 3 units
    TC = +4: 7 units
    TC = +5: 10 units
    TC = +6: 13 units
    TC >=+7: 16 units
