    The Prince: Dear Don

Forgive me in advance for any of the questions that I ask that have already been asked a quadrazillion times before. I noticed on Trackjack that some casinos around the world have a player advantage of as much as .499 percent. What's to stop a guy from walking in there, flat betting with basic strategy, and winning consistently?

I watched a guy flat bet 2 hands of $500 a few days ago and he cashed out $9000. Bought in for $600, ya. House edge for a perfect basic player was .22. this guy was not a perfect player and did make mistakes. Now at one time he was up $15,000. He had enough sense to get out before he lost it all back, shoulda left with the $15,000.

They must be the ones with early surrender. Ah, the good ol' days of A.C.! But that edge seems awfully high.

Short answer: Nothing. Of course, even the slightest spread might double that edge, and 0.5% will certainly produce a lot of fluctuations, but it's a decent edge, and, given enough time, flat-betting will certainly get the money.

Sounds like he got off pretty lucky for not playing perfect basic strategy. Where was this casino at? .22 is a pretty nice edge.
