WallStRunoff: Question
Im just trying to find out if this happens to everyone or I'm just weird:
After I get up from a table the final count stays in my head for some time thereafter. I can go to the bathroom, the restaurant, to another casino even before I consciously realize my brain is habitually storing the count (with the ace side count!). It's really bizzare when u realize your still keeping it for no reason, but I suppose its a good thing (means I've conditioned myself in some way). Any thoughts?

I find that happens to me sometimes.
I just think we are so focused at the time we are playing that it just remains with us sometimes after we finish.
I agree with Ouchez, I find myself counting when I roll over in my sleep.
I even remember a couple of times, the dealer is shuffling and the last shoe is a dead issue and I find myself repeating the count as it was at the end.
And now she is getting ready to deal. Almost like I have to shake my head a few times to come back to reality.
When I was a kid and I couldn't sleep, I would count. Who ever figured it would come to this .
Sure beats the hell out of counting sheep.
I guess even if I were to count sheep at this point, I would probably include a side count of aces.

Once I leave a table, I forget about it, but when I am playing and the cut card comes out, I find myself STILL counting to the end, even though I know there won't be another round to use it.
I've tried to break myself of this, but haven't had much success.
I guess when you get into a groove and get used to something, you can't just walk away from it at a whim...

Radar: Counting Sheep or Counting Cards?

Your Mom was preparing you for your future endeavor and you didn't even know it.
Does this mean now when you have insomnia you count cards, instead?
