    sfgiants: Celebrity Blackjack

    Not a bad show.

I'm not sure if Hollywood Dave reads this forum, but if possible, when a player DD and your bust (dealer) can you show his DD card. Yesterday, the guy from THE BACHELOR doubled on his 16 versus your 6 (correct play).

Not a big deal but I felt like posting today.

    Hollywood Dave: editing

Glad you like the show, and if nothing else it makes for some entertaining conversations about the celebs. My job there is really less about proper tournament strategy (most of the time i'm just addressing basic strategy questions) & more about riling the celebs up so that they feel comfortable being ever bit as obnoxious as i am.

As far as the decisions to show certain cards, etc -- i can assure you that every part of the game is played out to its entirety, nothing is cut for TV. However, in the editing room many decisions are made regarding cutting out aspects of gameplay & conversation that are not as essential to the flow of the episode. No actor has the luxury of sitting in the editing room (save some of the biggest stars), so i would have no input into that cutting-room-floor process. Some of my best one-liners have been chopped due to time constraints & the like; thats just TV.

If you're a stickler for advanced tournament play, than i recommend you lower your expectations for Celebrity Blackjack! Just have fun watching it, and wait for the next World Series of Blackjack to air this January (a week or two after the current season of CB finishes) where you will see some of the most advanced players in the world creating new strategies for advantage play right before your eyes. You won't be disappointed --
