Mikey Douglas: Flat Bets and Multi-Action Blackjack

Greetings! About three weeks ago I was bitten by the blackjack bug. Ever since I have consumed as much information as I possibly can. I have read Blackjack as a Business, KO, Burning the Tables, Blackbelt in Blackjack, and Blackjack Attack. Currently I have taken a break from reading to study the game and practice. I do attend to keep up with my studies. I now know enough to stay away from the tables unless you are absolutley prepared and have a strong bankroll. Neither which I have, so I stay away from vegas. I know if i persue my studies I will aquire the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the domain of vegas. But, my bankroll is a different story. Im currently building by playing low stake neighborhood hold 'em. I do well. Untill I have my bankroll I wish to gain casino experience, just so i'm some what prepared for play in a casino. I live in Denver. Here in colorado there is to places to go to get any action. In the hills ther is two towns named blackjack and central city, both our gambling towns. Both offer blackjack. Both impose a flat bet. 5$ minimum 5$ maximum. My dilema is although I want the experience I will not play unless I know I have some advantage. I've been un a search to try to gain something on these guys. Then while reading Blackjack Atttack it hit me. Chapter 2 Rule# 8 Multi-Action Blackjack. Multi Action Blackjack allows you to wager on three different spots on one hand. Other words you can spread your bets. In vegas you can spread from 2 to 3 spots. In colorado 1 to 3. Yes, both blackhawk and central city offer this play. Here is the catch. Although you bet 3 spots on one hand the dealer draws a new hand on each spot. The edge to the counter is he can spread bets when the tc is positive, and simply reduce the spread when negative. Although in colorado the multi-action blackjack is still a falt bet of 5$ on each spot, I can spread from 1 to 3 spots. In vegas no faltbet is imposed but you are only allowed to spread from 2 to 3 bets. Although all the information needed to anwser this question is in front of me in chapter2 of balckjack attack. I'm not a mathmatician. Athough I have taken a statistics course I do not trust my calculations will be accurate. What I want to know is can I get some kind of advantge playing multiaction blackjack wher im able to spread from 1 to 3 spots but on a flatbet of 5$ each spot. Is ther anybody who can make this kind of calculation or can assist me to accomplish this calculation. Any assistance I would tremedously aprreciate. Thank You for any response. Hopefully I have found a blackjack game up in blackhawk and central city that I can gain a advantage. P.S. I have refrenced blackbelt in blackjack for how to win with a flatbet, but this only works with one deck, which is not offered. Once again, Thank You for reading or responding.

Uh-oh. Sorry to hear that. Another good man gone bad.

BTW, the books you have chosen to read are the good ones. Congratulations for getting off to a good start. However now that you have read Blackjack As A Business, put it away. It's good to read for a lot of reasons -but it is dated.

You have the same problem I do. The answers are ALL in BJA3 ... understanding them (or probably more truthfully, taking the time to understand them) with the brain God gave me is sometimes a challenge.

Don't be bashful posting your questions. The smart guys that come here are tireless and patient in answering them .. sometimes over and over and over again.

    Good luck.
