I'm looking at the last paragragh of pg.476. I'm curious why why your play would change based your first 2 cards dealt even though the total is the same.Thanks

Cards removed, other than your first two cards, can change the basic strategy for some close plays. When you've split a pair, and you consider your first hand of the two, there is the extra split card lying alone, to the left. This makes the play of the hand different from just receiving the same total with no other cards exposed but your two and the dealer's upcard.
