Stillseekingacoolnickname: What counting system should I use?

I would like to use two differents counting systems. One for shoe, one for single deck game.

For shoe, I'm thinking about either the Halves or Hi-Opt II with an ace side count. It seem to me that for straight blackjack the Hi-Opt II perform better, but Halves seem easier to shuffle track, am I wrong ? Also, the Halves is simpler. Could the Halves be more powerful in practice ?

For single deck, I hesitate between Hi-Opt I with ace and 7 sidecount and Hi-Opt II with ace sidecount. Which one would allow me the lowest bet spread ? Which one is the most powerfull ?

Also RA indices... are they worth it ?

    Probably not necessary.

Halves is spectacular for shoes. But, if you learn Hi-Opt II, you would certainly use that for SD, as well.

Hi-Opt II, for SD, is as good as it gets.

Define "worth it"! You should read BJA2 (or BJA3, when it comes out next month). There is a whole section on r-a indices.
