Sun Runner: Illus 18
BJA tells me the Ill 18(22) for a HiLo 4D game cut 75%.
Cacarulo posted in April 2000 an Ill 18 for a HiLo 6D S17 75% game.
Is there available an Ill 18(22) for HiLo SD H17?
Thanks.

Sure. It's in BJA2, p. 195 and will be in BJA3, p. 213. Due to more recent simulation methods, a couple of indices may have changed.

Sure enough!
I was surprised at the little overall difference between SD and the generic multi-deck Ill 18 I play with.
The Insurance index was an eye opener, between SD and multi-deck. I've missed a few plays there!!
8 v 5&6. Is that a counter tell in SD; do the civilians ever double an 8?
Unlike the old guys, I learned BJ on 6D shoes and have generally stayed away from SD -although I do like the quick pace of it. Am gearing up this summer to play alot of SD. I feel like a bit of my education is lacking. I may get burned in every joint West of the Mississippi but it should be fun if I can hold onto the bank.
Thanks again for all the exceptional insights.
Most times I feel like a beggar at the back door.

Not such an eye-opener. People double on 5, 6, and 7! Eight is fairly common.

You're more than welcome.

That's funny you should say that.
Just the other night I was sitting at a table with 3 people and myself.
The funny thing was that all 3 of them doubled on a hard 8 against a dealer 6 in the same hand.
I was smiling inside, mostly because the count was so bad I was gonna take a bathroom break in the middle of the whole thing.
Low and behold enter Standard Deviation, the 3 of them got bad cards and all 3 won the hand.
Go figure:
Anyway, that being said, I find many people handle hard 8's the same way they do 9's.
