Norm Wattenberger: Anybody seen any shuffle studies?
I'm currently testing a shuffle simulator. (Not for shuffle-tracking.) Problem is that there is very little literature on shuffles that can be used to verify results. It's always better to have outside verification. I'd be interested in any references anyone can remember.

Not quite sure what you're looking for...
Found this site. It has some references included with a high-level description of different kinds of shuffles.

Thanks; but no. Sorry, my lack of clarity. I'm looking for studies on the effect on BJ specifically due to poor shuffles. There have been a few isolated articles over the last few decades. But very few. I know Harvey Cohen spent a lot of time at it - but don't know of any summary. Wong made a few comments and Uston in his newsletter. Pretty sparse info.
regards,

Wong published a study in his BJ magazine back in the early 80's.
I have talked to a few location experts who state that most dealer shuffles are much coarser than what any of the published studies indicate. This is particularly true with the last cards interleaved.

By last cards interleaved, do you mean last in a riffle, or last riffle? If the former, would this be true more often with uneven grabs?
