    Newbee: KO Question??

I have been learning KO Preferred for the last 2 months. Study the KO book, play on CV, go through the messageboards, ect. I will be playing (red)SD and DD deck games in Reno. I have the KO Generic Basic Strategy Chart (Page 28) memorized. Do other KO players use this chart? Or do they memorize the exact basic strategy for every different game they play? Would the gain be worth the trouble for me to try and learn the more exact strataegy charts for the SD and DD games?... thanks....

Short answer: generic BS will be just fine, although it isn't very difficult to learn the exceptions, little by little.

    Good luck to you!

    I only play KO.

I have found that the Generic BS in KO is a bit inferior to others.

For instance they have you hitting a pair of 4's againt dealers 5's and 6's which is a split.

I also find other BS that are lacking in KO.

    Here are just a few.
    They only have you splitting 2's againt 4 5 6 7.

    Same with 3's.

I also split 6's againt 2's. (they say no)

This is to just name a few and there are certainly more.

Also when you get to the preferred, at high plus counts (which is when your big money is on the table) they are telling you to double on you 8 against 5's and 6's.
No place do they tell you that if that 8 comes about with 2 4's that it is a split.

What I do, is this. I use KO as my base and I also have many things that I have added to refine it. Most of which I got right in this room.

Only yesterday, with an $1000.00 bet on the table at plus 4 (6 decks) I did not split my 8's against a dealer 10 which is an important indice, but again not in the book. But, I won the hand which was a $2000.00 swing. KO does not address this.

So my suggestion is to take KO, add stuff to it, sleep with BJ ATTACK under your pillow and you will be fine.

And get a better BS chart then the Generic one in KO.

    Good luck,

    Hollywood

    Only if DAS is permitted.

    Again: assumes no DAS.

    Ditto.

See above. If no DAS, doubling would be correct.

    No argument there! :-)

Because I ONLY play in AC, and in AC there is NO game without DAS, I always assume that everygame everywhere DAS is automatic, which is obviously not the case.

    I should have added that.

    Opps,
