I have appreciated Hollywood's candor in describing his style of play.

While inadvertently helping me notice a gross error I was making when splitting to two hands, he has shown me again that the K.I.S.S. method of doing just about anything is still the watch word of the day.

Hollywood plays KO -not the most sophisticated of counts.

Hollywood's bread and butter is 6D shoes.

Hollywood only spreads 1:10

Hollywood dosen't ST or back-count.

But Hollywood wins by employing the most basic of principles.

He knows a fundamentally sound game inside and out, employs good money management, keeps good records, looks for the right conditions within the constraints he has to play under. He knows his own limitations.

How re-freshing for me, to see once again, that while knowing the 205th index out to the last 5 decimals is certainly important -that's not at all what it takes to win big.

I agree with everything you've written.

But, don't lose sight of the fact that some people do everything just as you've mentioned and ALSO know the numbers and the math as precisely as they can.

It doesn't have to be an either/or situation.

Don is absolutly correct. I'm the first to admit that when it comes to the math in BJ, I just don't get it.
Actually I would love to get it. For a while I tried, and still didn't get it.
Then I realized I didn't have to get it.

That being said, if you can do both, somewhere along the line I would think it would be an advantage.

My biggest concern is, know how to count quickly.
When to bet correctly. And what plays to make and when.

At certain counts, I stop hitting my 16 againt the 10, 15 againt 9 etc. I know the when and the how.
Does the (math) reason why I don't hit that 16 matter? I think not. The correct play is the issue.

But that is how I utilize this room. For me it is a forum of knowledge. What I am really good at is taking what they teach me and applying it.

One thing you can be certain of. IT WORKS. ALL OF IT WORKS.
A person need only comprehend the big picture.

I figure my game is 20% Fuchs, 20% the math guys in the room 10% Arnold and 50% Schlesinger. Those my friend are alot of weapons for casinos to contend with .

Certainly not -never meant to imply it did.
Once anyone quits moving forward (learning) -they have started going backwards.
