    AsZehn: Cancelled decks

Where is the best place to get cancelled casino cards? I am looking for several dozen lightly used decks to practice with.

Ask at every casino cage you go to. Just say, "do you have any decks of cards?" Many give them away free.

Other than gift shops in the casinos, if you are in LV, you can get them at the Gamblers General Store at less than $1 per deck. If you are not in LV, you can order by phone (800-322-2447) or online www.gamblersgeneralstore.com.

You can also check your local "99 cent store."

Thanks, I see they also carry the discard trays that I have been looking for.

You can get new, uncancelled decks from the Dunes at http://www.casinocom.com. You might find them on eBay also. They're more expensive of course. This is what I used for the shoe photographs in CV.

    AsZehn: Re: Uncancelled, new decks

I wanted to use cancelled cards at various increments in a discard tray to test myself on # decks remaining. I thought used cards would be a closer match than using new cards. If you think new cards would be better let me know.

Have been using the discard tray drill in CVBJ, but wanted to see how I do against the real thing. Am switching from an unbalanced count and want to verify my abilities before going.

As always, thanks for your help.

I guess it depends on the casino and face up or face down play. Cards at a strip casino aren't handled all that much. Also, I have lots of casino decks both new and used. Unfortunately, and much to my surprise even the decks from different casinos aren't of the same thickness.
