Don Schlesinger: Cross-section
The sad part about your narrative is that we must realize that this cross-section of typical gamblers is representative of the gambling population at large. This is the way MOST people think -- unless your employees are unusually dumb! :-)
Can you imagine how lucrative it must be to own a casino, when, every minute of every day, people such as your employees are hard at work, losing their money?
I hope you all had a good time, and I hope that the people you took are better at doing their jobs than they are at gambling! :-)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, the trip was extremly successful.
You're so right Don, to see my group in action was quite interesting.
I set this up so everyone could unwind a bit. They have been killing themselves lately.
I left out in my previous post, I had given each person a small alotment to play with. ($30.00)
Well, 20% of them won. Also about 20% of them did not play. They decided to just keep the $30.00.
Out of the 20% that won, most of them told me as soon as they were up anything, they stopped playing.
But, here are the 2 funniest stats. One of the biggest winners at BJ was the person who doubles on 12 only. SCARY HUH.
One of my managers who was sitting with her told me she emptied 2 tables because nobody wanted to play with her.
But, this was the best of all.
We had one big big winner. Hit the Jackpot on the slot machine for 17 thousand dollars.
Are you sitting down. It was the rosary woman.
(I'm gonna get a set to keep in my pocket while im counting)
What you said is true, these people (who are excellent employees) represent the gambling population as it actually exists. I guess this is 90 something % of what actually walks through a casino's door.
It made we wonder, why in the world would they be remotly concerned with us. It just dosen't make sense.
Then I thought about it. And I realized I won
$3,200.00. Thats why.

scobee 1: Employee benefits
Well, I think this is a very interesting survey and a more scientific and representative group could not be found. Thanks, Hollywood and congrats on getting the money out and killing the bastards.
I would like to order a set of 'Hollywood rosary beads.' In addition a set of sims concerning the feasibility of hard twelve double downs would be welcome.
I'll bet the office Christmas party will be well attended.
One serious question....if you played AC, what strategies led to your big win at the blackjack tables? Without revealing any sensitive information, could you hint about how you beat the inclement conditions?
Again, I thouroughly enjoyed your descriptions of your particular cross-section of gaming society and especially the results. Your summary paragraph was a hoot!
Regards,

Hi Scobee:
It was not a big win. I'm only a blackchip player, and only play 6 deck shoe game in AC.
Actually, at one point in my session I was down 6 thousand, but very patiently waited for my count and got it back in addition to the won amount in about 3 minutes.
Just for your info. In this session, my minimum bet was $100 and max was 2 hands of $750.00 each. So as you can see, it was not a big win at all.
I do however, try to maximize my win levels so as not to attract to much attention.
And yes, my holiday party should be a hoot.
I assume my employees will have alot to chat about over morning coffee tomorrow.
Just a bunch of regular people trying to take care of there families.
