this, but I thought I would pass it along anyway.

One night last week I had dinner with one of my hosts in AC.
Although this is not unusual, in this case you may find it interesting.
This person, prior to being a host worked upstairs and his exclusive job was to look for counters. He changed careers because the money is better, doing what he is doing now.
So you understand the relationship, the person and myself attend each of our families functions outside the casino. We have become close friends in the outside world.
He explained a few areas to me over the past few years that they look for.
For instance, people who never take insurance and then take it when they have a big bet out there.
People who have big bets out there, but and don't hit 16 against a 10 after they have been hitting it all night. Anyway that kind of stuff.
But the purpose of my post is not that. He told me something that I never heard before. And that is the reason i'm posting this.
He said in his hotel, that every Blackjack player without exception is given a rating on the level of play from 1 to 5. 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. Most BS players are a 3 he said. The worse a player is rated, the more energy they put into inviting him back. Any person who has a 4 rating is listed as a skilled player. But, not necessarily a counter. Or he said, that a 4 could be a counter, but one they evaluated and don't consider a threat. A 5 is someone they are worried about. I found this of some interest. He also mentioned that they keep a close eye on bet variations and patterns.

Well, anyway as I hear them I pass them along to the room. Like I said, perhaps most of you already knew this, but because I didn't, I found it interesting.

One last point.

One of my friends who is by far one of the most knowledgable counters and powerful players and myself were both rated a 3.

God I love this game
