Hollywood: What would you have done?

I just got back from AC, and for those of you who play in AC you are aware of the fact that the conditions are terrible.

So as I have mentioned in the past, I keep a log book of dealers who give excellent PEN. Last night I locate one of them and exactly as advertised she takes off one deck out of the six. For Ac this is absolutly wonderful.
Now this dealer is killing me at high counts when I have the advantage. So under normal conditions I would change dealers when I approched my stop loss. But, the PEN at all the other 6 deck blackchip tables are between 65 and 70%. I'm losing with 83%. So because of the better conditions, I decided to stay where I was and eventually got wiped out of my days bankroll.
What I am curious about is would my fellow counters have done the same thing. Or would you have changed tables and given up the good PEN.

So what would you have done?

    Regards,

Hollywood, we keep trying, but you're not getting the message.

What would be your rationale for leaving the better-pen game for the poorer-pen game? Because you were losing at the former?

How can we get you to stop thinking that way?

    Hi Don:

I did the right thing. I stayed. So my thinking is correct. If I had got up went to another table, that would have been the wrong move. Do not think all your training is in vain. I do get it Don. When I ask the question, what would you do? It's just my way of confirming that I did it right.
When a person is sitting at a table and is down 10k and they hang in there because they know the conditions are where they want to be. Make no mistake it takes hootpa (spelled wrong).
So the overall loss was 12 thousand.
After all this time Don, you know when I take a hit (which thank god is far less then my ytd wins)
I always like making certain that I did it right.
If I lose and I do it wrong, it really pisses me off. But I know SD is my partner. (thanks to you) and strange things happen.
But, when you and the crew tell me, "you got beat up, but you did it right" then I know Don it's just my friends from SD paying me a visit .

As long as I play it correctly Don, I never give Jack about the losses. They come back around.

    Thanks,

    Hollywood

    Johnny Bravo: I would've stayed

I was playing a DD game at one of my local casinos a while back and getting a consistent 85% pen. Other tables were crowded and pen was worse. I was heads up betting green chips. A most wonderful situation with good rules (DOA, DAS, S17) and I was getting tons of hands per hour. In about 3 hrs I was down 5k playing a 1-8 spread!! I just kept buying in and buying in. Ploppies would come in, lose, and then leave. At one point the dealer apologized and suggested that I try a different table like everybody else had done (no thank you). Statistically, if I have to have a big fluctuation, I would rather have it all at once and be done with it instead of having it spread out over several smaller losses. Needless to say, I stayed at that table for about 30 minutes more and left a 4k loser after winning about 1k of it back in one DD shoe.

Hang in there. You did it right - Unless the loss started to effect you emotionally and interfered with your playing. In that case you should've left.

boiko: Think of it this way

An individual shoe has memory, but it doesn't have eyes. In other words, the cards don't know who (which dealer) is sliding them from the shoe. Play the most advantageous game.

Oh, and it's not about the money, it's about doing the right thing! Do the right thing and the money will come.
