Hollywood: I HAVE A QUESTION?
Currently, I play in AC at 6 deck game with the following rules.
doa
das
split 3 time max
shoe game
Currently using KO, I flat bet $100.00 with a maximum bet of $1000.00. Then finally (when i'm playing with other players only) 2 hands of $1000.00.
My question is this.
With the above conditions, will my result still be adequate, if I were to keep the same format as above, but I reduce my maximum bet to $500.00. Then eventually 2 hands of $500.00 in place of one and two hands of $1000.00.
Thanks,
Hollywood

Karel: multiple hands
If your max bet is $1000 with one hand, then the equivalent size is approx. $750 for two hands.

Kim Lee: Spread
See Blackjack Attack for optimal spreads and returns. Also, John Auston's One Minute Sim spreadsheet should tell you whether your spread will win. With that kind of money you should seriously consider travelling to find games.
I'm surprised you can get decent speed and penetration in A.C. I thought they watched the games and took countermeasures.

Finding good PEN in AC is the biggest problem.
I actually keep a log of dealers. Constantly looking for consistency.
However, I do find that the dealers that give good pen, give it almost all the time and vice versa. So, right from the beginning I know who to avoid and who not to.
I find using DONS betting approach from BJA seems to have them less concerned. I have had no problems to date.
Unfortunately, the only place to get a 6 deck game in AC is in the high roller pit. So if you want to play Green chips, you are basically confined to 8 decks. It's tough enough with 6.
As a result I must play with a $100.00 minimum. Absolutly terrible playing conditions.
Which is the reason I asked my previous question, because I am locked into 100 dollar minimum, and I was trying to reduce my risk of ruin while trying to figure out what the down side is.
Don told me what it would cost me an hour. But, I didn't know what my win rate was before that.
I always have trouble with the math stuff.

Then, I guess you don't flat bet atyer all! :-)

Not the same thing, of course.

You lose the EV from the contribution of the max bets to the tune of about 8-8.5% of $500, times about average EV of 3% or so (wild guess). I'd say, before spreading to two hands, it would cost at least $100-$125 per hour.

If my cost is approx 100 to 125 per hour. What was my win rate prior to that?
I just find going to two hands of $1000.00 per, is a bit expensive. When I get a bad run, I go through 10k or more in a minute.
I thought I could reduce my R of R a bit by making my max bet 2 hands of 5 units instead of 2 hands of 10 units.
But, if this is not mathimatically feasable, then I will just leave it the way it is.
Thanks

Parker: Now I have a question
Hollywood,
You seem like a pretty sharp guy and you're betting some serious coin. So why don't you stop playing the crappy games in AC and do weekend getaways to Tunica or Las Vegas?
At your betting level you'd be full RFB in most casinos, and they would probably pick up at least part of your airfare as well.
Best of all, you'd actually get to play some really good games.

Hollywood: Parker, real easy answer

I HATE TO FLY

Parker: Um, okay
> I HATE TO FLY
I must confess that that is one explanation that never even crossed my mind.
I used to be uncomfortable flying. Then I got a job with a major corporation that required constant air travel.
Now, the only feeling of any sort that I have about flying is that it boring. Fortunately, I am one of those people who can fall asleep anywhere.
Unfortunately (at least for those seated near me) I snore. :-)

we'd have to do a precise sim, but I think your win rate would drop from anbout $170 an hour to about $65.

Mister M: Re: I HAVE A QUESTION?
Dear Hollywood
Gave you considered spreading to two hands ANYTIME your bet is MORE than one unit?.
