    Parker: Indices question?

Since I'm one of those people who has a tough time memorizing a bunch of numbers, the I-18 has been a godsend to me.

I'm presently using what I call the "Tough 20," which consists of the I-18 minus splitting 10's (draws too much heat) and plus the indices for doubling 8 and A,8 vs dealer 5 & 6. I use UBZII and play mostly single and double deck games.

I was somewhat surprised to read the following on another message board:

"According to my sba simulations the difference between learning 18 indices and 50 indices on single deck is gargantuan. My 1-4 spread using HOII has a score of 137 with the correct I18 for single deck, while it has a score of 177 with the top 50 indices."

Do these numbers sound right? Should I take another shot at learning more indices?

Using BJRM, I got about 116 for the I18 and 136 for the fully parameterized Hi-Opt II (from CVCX).

    Don Schlesinger: P.S.

The post didn't specify the shuffle point. Mine was 31/52. Maybe that's why your numbers differ.
