    Mr.X: Phantom Phone Call

Hollywood was talking about being stuck in a very negative count because he had already taken "a walk" a few shoes before.
One trick I have recently started to use, is if I want to temporarily leave the table, and have already "walked" recently, is to pull out my cell phone, and pretend I have a call. Can't talk on the phone at the table, so, darn!, have to step away. It's a new trick for me, and a bit awkward since my phone doesn't actually ring, but it's noisy enough so that I've gotten away with it. One could also pre-arrange a call with a cohort, so you get a real call.

In order not to disrupt, when indoors, many cell phones vibrate, rather than ring. Whether you knew it or not, that's now what yours does! :-)

The funny thing about that is none of the cell phones work in that pit. (I would rather not mention the casino) As a result, because they are the high end tables, when you want to make a call they actually give you there phone to use. I guess when you playing blacks they want you to stay put.
However, what I do is keep an old beeper on me. When I want to cut out for any reason I reach down and put it in the on position which makes it beep (loud) and I ask the dealer to put a clear chip in my place. The day in question, I left my beeper home.

    Isn't this fun?

    Regards,

    Hollywood
