HOLLYWOOD: Don, what kind of stats did

your guy Dan Gordon finish the regular NFL season with. Just curious, because I remember you said prior to this he was running at 57%. Did he do as well this time? I was just laying back this year, but I would like to give him a shot next year. Also, do you have any idea how he did with the NBA and baseball?

Dan finished 44-30 for 59.5% in the NFL. I believe he is currently around 56+% for well over 100 games in the NBA.

    He doesn't handicap baseball.

    Wow, 59.5% is extremely impressive!
I must say I am wary of claims of high % sports picks. Gordon clearly seems legit, but I remember I used to monitor some of these yahoos on their informercials who claim similiar %'s. What happened was, they claimed victory if any line at any time that week gave them a tie or win. E.G., spread opens at 6, goes to 7, drops to 5, game ends at 6, he'll take credit on both sides. (and, of course, sometimes they'd just outright lie).
Anyway, my question is, I know Gordon advocates heavily shopping around for points on the internet. I distrust internet books. How much of the 9.5% above random was caused merely by shopping around?
And do you know if there was a substantial difference between the best line in Vegas and the best lines on the internet? I suspect the internet is much better, since so many books are now "merged" and post the same lines, e.g. Leroy's, Boyd Group, PPE, etc.

Shopping is crucial in Dan's approach, and not everyone can get every line he receives personally. A decent estimate might be that, without his access, it might cost you 2-3% of his win rate. You would have still done very well, I would imagine.
