Hollywood: Don, have you ever heard of this?

A fellow counter (an old timer) told me recently that he was backcounting a table in Atlantic City, when the situation was right, he sat down and asked for change of $7,500.00. After asking him how he wanted it, they gave it to him. Then before the first card was dealt, the pit boss came over to him and told him for the rest of the shoe he had to play the table minimum. He told him he could play for higher amounts when this shoe was over.
I never saw this done, have you? If so Don, is it more common then I think? And are they allowed to do that?
By the way, he did not argue with them, he only did as they requested. He finished the shoe and left the casino. He said he never even asked them why.

was not a table with a no MID-SHOE entry. That was why I was confused by it. Had it been a no-mid shoe entry table I would have understood it.
This was an open table that anyone could have come into at anytime. He made change, and they made him play the table minimum for the rest of the shoe. That was why I asked you about it.

Where can I read about this case? It sounds quite interesting. How long ago was it? And how did it come to be? Now i'm curious.
Are there any books written just about this?

There are casinos which have a max bet on mid shoe entry. They apply to all players, at all tables. Like $100 max on mid-shoe entry.

At such a casino, a player who entered a $100 minimum table would be forced to bet the minimum for the rest of the Shoe.

At these casinos, the rules are enforced against everyone, as a routine matter.

Personally this is the dumbest rule that a casino can have. The only people who are allowed to jump in and piss-off the high-rollers are ?. The low-rollers.

I am a not familiar with AC, and so do not know if any of the casinos there have similar rules. But I am not surprised by the story.
