They are a set of cards with very basic strategy/playing info for various games. I have a few sets from various casinos from over the years, though they are packed away right now. The info is not usually worth anything, but most of the time they come with free play (like my Stations cards) or non-negotiable chips of some sort (such as my Sahara and Excalibur cards).

I do the WinCards promo every trip to Vegas. The main benefit is getting $15 in promotional chips for $10. When you win you are paid in regular chips; when you lose, the promo chips are dumped in the cash box. You do get a set of rudimentary strategy materials, I immediately trash them. You also get a pink slip of paper for a free "dealer bet" of $1.

I have been very successful doing the promo. I get on a $5 BJ table, play until the promo chips are gone, then cash in. Circus Circus & Excalibur offer it once per month, Westin & Tuscany do it once every 6 months. Slots-A-Fun discontinued it a few months back, Four Queens offers it once per lifetime (and they keep records). Boulder Station no longer has it, not sure if any other casinos still do it. I think the best I ever did was making $45 profit at Excalibur, including a couple matchplay coupons from their funbook. I have made $20-$35 regularly, and got wiped out at Tuscany the last time (down the entire $15).

I normally do the WinCards as part of a promo run each trip, including the funbook at Strat, the steak dinner & matchplay at Ellis Island, the 7-5 matchplays at Riviera, etc. Good luck.

Can you use matchplay coupons with the non-negotiable chips you get with Wincards or do you have to wait until you win and get regular chips to use the matchplays (I am thinking of the matchplays you can get at Excalibur and Circus Circus).

I'm really not sure. I know I've used matchplays at both places, but I don't recall whether or not I've used them with the promo chips. I'm pretty sure I did it at Excalibur (on a plus count), but I think I only had craps matchplays at CC. I don't see why not, it's real money. Might as well try, the worst thing is they say you can't. Good luck.
