In Blackjack Autumn author Barry Meadow talks about a "Stardust curse." However he is merely referring to his own personal losing streak there. That is the only reference of which I am aware.
(and this is only conjecture) that it refers to the fact that it is "known" among counters to very often be the one place a counter will be caught. I was once in a room of 12 counters, and only one had never been "tagged" there (not saying who!). This is a pretty informal thing, kind of like how everyone "knows" the Barbary Coast to have the sweatiest pit known to mankind. Again, this is only conjecture, but it was the first thing that came to my mind when I read your post.
