The GBC has been around for a couple of decades. Does anybody know who started this well-respected book store, and who were the former owners after him? And, who's owning GBC rite now?

John and Edna Luckman founded it. When John died, Edna was the sole proprietor. When Edna died, Howard Schwartz became the proprietor.

Even though the store has been in the same location for years (probably since it was founded), it may have to move soon. I don't have details, but Howard does not own the building, and I get the feeling that the owner wants to sell. Downtown property is really hot right now, with lots of lofts, shopping centers, and art galleries going up, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
