Bettie: Reports of 3:2 DD at Wynn

In response to Victoria's post below and a phone call from a friend who went to Wynn this morning, it's confirmed that there are reports of some DD 3:2 games. I promise you that they weren't there before 3am, as I recorded each table individually, and saw each pit at least twice. We went into every nook and cranny possible, even being stopped by guards a couple times, and there's no way an entire pit would escape our attention (as well as the attention of other pro players we compared notes with while there). Every table is capable of playing anywhere from 1 to 8 decks (all discard trays throughout the casino are tall enough to hold eight decks), and I'm guessing they had some requests for DD play. Because the 6:5 rule is printed right onto the felt of 4 tables, and not on the others, I'm guessing that any DD played on another table would be paid 3:2. That's some relief, at least, and I was happy to hear that my initial observations are now considered incomplete. We'll be going back this weekend to double-check everything, as well.

As for the 77.5% pen on the 6 deck games as reported by Zengrifter, I think that it may have been dealer-dependent. Everything I saw was so close to 75%, I presume that is the house standard. Again, I'll double-check everything while there this weekend.

    bfbagain: Although it's great

that Bettie is attempting to confirm the rules, tables, conditions etc,. I highly doubt, with just a couple, literally, exceptions across a few different sites, that there aren't more people who can offer their thoughts and confirm certain rules, and other assorted pieces of info that would be helpful.

So how about it folks. Anyone else willing to share your comments?

In the hope that there will be, are there any tables offering RSA? Are ALL tables using auto-shufflers? What's the mfg. being used for them? CSM's? Same question.

And for more sensitive info, there are alternative ways to share.

    cheers

Every table had either an automatic shuffler or a CSM, and I didn't see any shuffles taking place. While I couldn't stand around and wait for each table to get to a shuffle point, I did make sure to catch at least one in each pit, and saw that the cards were taken from the auto-shuffler. I didn't check manufacturer on those, but the CSM one2six flexible shuffler is a Shuffle Master product. In another post, I stated that all discard trays were tall enough to handle 8 decks, but this machine can only hold up to 6. It doesn't really matter, since pen is 0%, but I thought I'd point it out. The link below takes you to Shuffle Master's product page on the one2six.

bigplayer: Shoe pen is generally not dealer dependent

They use a cut notch in the shoe at Wynn (like Mirage) for cut card placement.

Pit along back wall (near Baccarat Pit) all hand shuffled. SLR&R two pass with cutoffs topped.

    Bettie: However,

Yes, but there can be a difference of about 6 cards from the front to the back of the slot and with the way a dealer angles the cut card (try it yourself), which can change pen 2%. Hence, my 75% pen report and others reporting 2.5% better.

Hell, at this point, I'm sorry I even bothered to post anything, as every response has been that I'm just plain wrong. Well, too bad. I saw every single table in the place (including those by the baccarat pit), and I reported what I saw. It's changed since 1am Thursday morning, that's all. I'm happy to hear that things have changed (especially that some shoes are being shuffled), and I assume that they were using auto shufflers to accomodate the crowds of people that were pouring in.

Like I said, I had people I was comparing notes with, so it's not as though I'm crazy. So, next time I'll do the easy thing and just wait for everyone else to post reports. That way, I won't be the one who's wrong.

    Oh Bettie,

I wanted to express that your being 'wrong' has no bearing on how much we appreciate your efforts. Just your time to eloquently describe the setting shows that you care. I did particularly enjoy your description of the grounds, and i know that when i visit I will enjoy the scenes more for having read your precursor. Which was well-written.

I'm sure we all thank you.

    Autoground: Re: However,

And those compliments to your writing style are not to imply that the other information, about the games, is going unappreciated. At the very least I've learned that it might be worth it to visit a bit later when the crowds aren't so smothering.

But all I'm trying to say is that we appreciate the work you put in.

I also great appreciate your report and do not consider anything you wrote in error. As you said, things can change. If you did happen to miss something in such a large place, so could anyone else.
You took on a tremendous job, checking the whole place out. Someone like zengrifter probably checked out blackjack and just a few other things, a much easier job.
Finally, tomorrow everything reported so far could change completely.

    Bettie: Grouchy Gus

Thanks, guys. I was just feeling frustrated that there were problems after staying up all night and making sure that I got the report in as soon as possible. I still haven't caught up on the sleep I missed, and I got very grouchy. I'll be sure to pay very close attention this weekend and will be happy to report that my initial observations were wrong, so that we may all enjoy 3:2 blackjack and a potentially trackable shuffle.

Great job Bettie, it's not at all surprising to see additional information posted after the opening night at Wynn. Thanks for the report!
