From today's LVRJ:

KYRK-TV switches to KVTE, Channel 35, the entertainment-themed cable station with big plans, at 6 p.m. today, starting with a 35-hour movie marathon featuring Elvis Presley and the original "Ocean's 11."

The live launch arrives at 5 a.m. Tuesday with Mayor Oscar Goodman proclaiming, "Wake up, Vegas."

At 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday, a taped Robin Leach interview airs with MGM Mirage execs Terry Lanni and Kirk Kerkorian discussing the Mandalay Bay Group acquisition, followed by "Backstage Secrets," a behind-the-scenes look at the making of "Erocktica Live!" which opens this week at the Rio. Also airing Tuesday as part of a weeklong salute to the Rat Pack: the 1998 TV documentary "Frank Sinatra: The Swinging Years."


Gossip columnist Norm will be joining Steph McKenzie every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for a gossip update called "Vegas Flash."
