    Temporarily Anonymous: Fiesta Casino Warning

If you should play at either Fiesta casino for some reason, DO NOT let them give you purple ($500) chips when you cash out. Purple chips have to be called in from the cage, and they take your picture while you're up there. You can take up to $2,000 in blacks without causing any worry.

This happened to someone I know in front of me. A regular at Fiesta, but not a blackjack player, he played a 3-1 bj coupon from the LV Advisor's POV. Bought in for $300 (max bet on coupon was $25), and cashed out 15 minutes later after he hit his bj for $525. The dealer asked him if a purple chip was okay, and he said it was fine, not knowing it would be an issue.

The cashier at the cage made the call, and told him to "Smile! They're taking your picture right now." She knew him from his regular (non-bj) play, and so they chatted for a few, and she told him about the $2,000 black chip limit. She also said something about it being a gaming law, which I think is bullshit. A professional gambler, he was pretty upset about it, even though he'll likely never play bj there again. The whole thing was stupid, he contends, because he regularly cashes out slot tickets twice and three times as big as that stupid purple chip.

Anyway, he told me it was okay if I posted this, as long as I did so anonymously. Just a fair warning to protect all of you bj players out there.

You say your friend is a pro gambler, and then also say he is a slot player. I am interested in beating slots, but I don't know very much about how to go about that. I know about the virtual reels and that if you know the true probabilities which are dictated by it, you can find a progressive that is +EV. But I don't know how to get the virtual reels sheets, as they are different for each machine and I doubt the casinos just hand them out. Do you know anything about how your friend beats slots, or did you mean video poker... or did you mean that he wasn't a pro, and accidently said he was. Thanks for the update, by the way!

That reminds me, does anybody have a copy of the Charles Lund book they'd be willing to sell?

Don't bother. Really. Almost none of the games that Lund discussed exist anymore, and those that do have changed since he wrote the book. I used to play some of the better games, found on Odyssey machines, but that company went out of business long ago (swallowed up by IGT) and their machines are very rare now, even rarer to find in a positive state. When they break, there's no way to fix them, so they get thrown out. Since the advent of the multi-line video slots, players just don't seem to care about the banking games anymore. So, neither do the casinos. I've had this same conversation with Lund, who still researches new slots to look for any loopholes.
