Kasey: Where can I go for low-limit craps?

I'm meeting my sister in Las Vegas in two days, and she would like to learn craps.

Can anyone tell me where we can find tables with limits under $5? Casino Royale maybe?

    Thanks in advance!

Does she already know blackjack? If not, see if she'll learn that instead.

The last time I played craps at the Royale, it was $3 with 100x odds. That was years ago, but things don't change very quickly there.

If y'all don't mind inhaling cigarette smoke from the 1940's, El Cortez has a $1 craps game.

www.cheapovegas.com is an excellent source for information on low-rolling.

On the strip Casino Royale is a great place to learn, they have low limit ($1?) craps served up in a tub (like a cross ). The game runs at a slower pace but still has all of the wacky craps bets for you to learn to avoid. A good place to start. All assuming they still have the mini craps tables, it's been a while since I've been there.

Have her pick up Craps: Take the Money and Run by Henry Tamburin at her local Borders or B&N. It is the best book to learn craps.

Slots-A-Fun! Plus, you get to gamble while outside (kind of). If you're willing to travel, go south to The Klondike. It's past Mandalay Bay on the other side of the street. They also have 10-cent roulette! Of course, if you're going to travel, you may as well go downtown.

FYI, "National Lampoon's Las Vegas Vacation" filmed at The Klondike (remember "Guess The Number" and "Rock-Paper-Scissors"?).

    Have a great time!

That was at the Klondike?! I love that movie, I'll have to take a trip over there, even though my wife's cousin Eddie says the stalls are backed up all the time. ;^)

Viktor Nacht: National Lampoon's LV Vacation Buffet Scene

It still bugs me all these years later that I still can't figure out where they filmed the buffet scene. I don't feel I've fully experienced Las Vegas until I've ordered food by color.

They always have 100x odds at Casino Royale, but the table limits vary depending on the day. I've seen them at $1, $2 and $3 at various times over the last couple of years. The problem is, it's usually packed and they only have two tables, so it can be murder getting a spot, especially after dinner. I've been there when they only had one table working and people were stacked up 3-deep waiting.

Slots-a-Fun has a $1 table, but it's only double odds, so you have to go to $2 on the line if you don't want to get shortchanged on your 6/8 odds. O'Shea's (next to Flamingo) has a $3 table with double odds.

Aside from those, every other place on the strip is $5 and up as far as I know.

Spent some time at the El Cortez a weekend ago. What used to be a $1 game is now $3 I think.

If you are going to have a vehicle there is a casino out toward the dam called Railroad Pass. If I remember correctly it is 23 miles from downtown. They have quarter craps there. Would be worth a call in advance because the table opens at different times each day, but is supposedly open each day. With quarters flowing so freely, the table at times looked like someone dumped a bag of orange chips in the middle of the table. Being conservative (my wife calls it being cheap) I had a great time playing longsots I never would have because of the casino advantage, but they're only quarters, right?

Almost forgot, 10x odds.....25 cent passline backed up with 2.50 in odds. Never thought I would see that again.

Small casino owned by Mandalay Bay I think. They also had a 4 deck $2 BJ table and 2 deck $3 BJ table if you are interested in low minimums for a beginner. Unsure of the rules.

Link to their site below. Doesn't give much info, but will have a number you can call.
