Count of Montecristo: Re: "Hard Eight" is (NOT) Great

I liked "Hard Eight" alot but it's not in the same ballpark as "The Hustler" in my opinion. Now the "Cincinnati Kid" with Steve McQueen and Edward G Robinson, that's a movie that's in the same ballpark as "The Hustler", if only for that final 7 card showdown climax.

    Hal Jordan: Hustler Movies

Thank you for the response; it is always fun to agree to disagree. I think I may be prejudice in that the atmosphere of the casino always tugs at my heart.

I enjoyed The Hustler, The Color of Money, and Poolhall Junkies, but they all lean more toward the genre of hustler movies (which I think are great). I enjoyed Hard Eight in a different light because of the way it moved away from the genre of con-artist movies.

    See you at the movies,
    HJ
