Kasey: Hoping for a better showing

I'll be in Las Vegas next week, and I'm hoping things will go at least a little better than last time.

I'd been practicing KO for about a year and a half, and thought I had it down, but things were a little different in the casino.

One time when the dealer asked about Insurance and I wanted to say "yes", I actually blurted out the count! Ugh, how embarrasing.

Another six months of daily practice and I'm ready to try again.

I'm just hoping not to do anything bone-headed this trip.

How did the dealer react and respond when you told him the count?

    Moose: blurting out the count.

.. last time that happened to me, it was a blackjack against an ace, and when I blurted out the count of "even", the dealer dutifully paid me 1:1 for my natural.

Yeah, it was a timely coincidence that saved me a lot of face, to say the least

    Kasey: Dealer's response

He said "what?" is all. I said I wanted insurance and put out my chips. It didn't cause much of a stir. I'm pretty sure he just thought he didn't hear what I said.

However, I was playing with a friend (non-counter) and I thought he was going to burst something trying not to laugh.
