    JBL: First time heat...some questions

Received heat for the first time. Have some questions. First, I play KO Preferred, 1-5 red spread. Play downtown LV 1-2 times per year for the past 2 years.

Backed off at EC recently. Played 55 min. 1-5 red, sometimes played 5 reds, sometimes 1 green. Up 1 unit when coloring up. When coloring up, PC comes up and says "I am backing you off. I see you are coloring up, go ahead. But I am backing you off, dont come back in here and play". I took insurance a few times on 12 and 13, that caught the dealers attention.

Was 2 others at table playing red and green. Playing some Royal Match also. Not advantage players.

    Questions:
What exactly he mean by backing off?
What documentation might they have on me (they did not ask for name)?
How safe is it for me to play there again (will be back in LV in July to September timeframe)?
What information might they have shared with other casinos?

    Thanks in advance for answers.

Usually this just means "no more blackjack," and you can still play other games. However, it almost sounds like he was trying to 86 you. More importantly, he did not recite (or even mention) the trespass act. Worst case scenario if you go back is they tell you to leave again.

    > What documentation might they have on me
    > (they did not ask for name)?

A surveillance photo (or photos) of you, together with a notation that you were backed off.

    > How safe is it for me to play there again
    > (will be back in LV in July to September

Safe? As I mentioned above, the worst that can happen is that they tell you to leave again. Play a different shift and keep your eyes open for that particular PC.

    > What information might they have shared with

They might have faxed a flyer with a surveillance photo to other downtown casinos, and possibly Coast properties. They don't have a name, and a fax of a surveillance photo isn't exactly high resolution.

The EC is a notorious sweatshop, known for backing off just about anyone who bets more than low red and demonstrates some understanding of the game. Even if they did send something out, I doubt that other casinos would pay a lot of attention to it.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, or let it affect your plans for your next trip.
