BJ1945: Parker: Las Vegas Club vs 4 Queens

    Which has nicer rooms?
I've stayed at 4 Queens (single bed) and the bathroom was uncomfortably small.

Never stayed at Las Vegas Club.
    Any free coffee and refrigerator?
    How about fun books?

    Thanks.

The rooms are very similar. No in-room coffee makers or refrigerators at Las Vegas Club, but both the rooms and bathrooms are slightly larger (comparing standard room to standard room). The north tower in the Las Vegas Club is newer, the south tower at Four Queens is newer.

I've found the staff at the Las Vegas Club to be friendlier and more efficient. Service at the Four Queens is not bad, just sort of indifferent.

I don't recall any funbooks at either place, but it has been a long time since I signed up for a players card at either place. IIRC, the Las Vegas Club gave me a free deck of cards.

LVC is better and cleaner IMHO and have in-room safes. I get a horrible cold everytime I stay at 4Queens (4 out of 4). LVC has better games too.

I walked through LVC less than two weeks ago and every table, every one of them, was fake 2 deckers.

Parker: Fake DD and CasinoVision Shufflers

You were mistaken, although it is an easy mistake to make. All tables at the Las Vegas Club use the CasinoVisions Random Ejection Shuffler.

The two tables with the "World's Most Liberal 21" signs above them are indeed the infamous "fake double deck." The shufflers are loaded with eight decks and spit out two deck slugs.

The other tables are single deck games. They use the same type of shuffler but it is set up differently. One deck is shuffled while another deck is in play. The easiest way to tell is to look at the backs of the cards. This is complicated by the fact that all Las Vegas Club cards have white backs. However, close observation will reveal that the ones in play will say "Las Vegas Club" in blue letters, while the ones in the shuffler will have red letters, or vice-versa.

One way to know for certain is to watch them while they change cards every two hours on the single deck games, as I did over the past weekend.

at LVC is good for two reasons...first it speeds the game up a good bit and second it prevents the dealer from giving a false shuffle and cheating you silly using that method (of course they can still deal seconds).

Note, I've not had any cheating problems at LVC and find them to be a fine establishment.
