    Parker: Horshoe hangs in there

A recent visit to the Horseshoe revealed that things are pretty much back to business as usual. All the pits in the east (original Horseshoe) side were open, and all the slot machines were operational. The remaining pit on the west (former Mint) side was closed, but that has been true 90% of the time lately.

    -Parker,

where you playing at the 'Shoe late Friday night (10/11)?? I was there grinding away ( red chipper here) and looked across the pit and saw a gentleman who was having what appeared to be a very lucrative session. (looked like 5K in grey in front of him) Wondering if that was you ??

I don't think it is a wise idea to post my exact whereabouts at any given time. However, if this fortunate fellow had a large stack of grey chips in front of him, I can state unequivocally that it was not me! :-)

    Or perhaps, :-(
    would be more appropriate. :-)

Andrew W Scott: East vs West

Just let me get my bearings, is the East side the side with the elevators in it? Or is that the West side? The big BJ games always used to be on the side furthest down Fremont Street (i.e. furthest away from the Plaza). Are you saying that that side is mostly closed down now?

    Thanks for the info,

    AWS

The east side is the original Horseshoe, on the corner of Fremont and Casino Center Dr. The west side is the side closest to the Plaza and Main St., and is the former Mint, and is also where the elevators are located.

BTW, the blackjack pit in that side (the west, former Mint side) is now gone completely, having been replaced with slot machines.

Also, dealers no longer keep their own tips. The good news is that toke hustling has decreased drastically, the bad news is that the dealers tend to be really cranky these days.

Still, it is pretty much business as usual in the blackjack pit on the east side, which is where all the knowledgeable players always played anyway.
