Meyer: Permission from Don Schlessinger re: new Mac simulator

I am about to release a new high-speed analytical blackjack simulator and index generator for Mac OS X (which to my knowledge will be the only sim available for OS X). I would like to include along with some of the displayed statistics your SCORE, DI, and a few other formulas from Blackjack Attack. Credit will be given, of course.

BJStrike is a pretty decent simulator that is ported to OSX - and Linux and even Solaris, for that matter!

Feel free to generate and quote SCOREs and DIs, and thank you for giving credit. Which formulas were you thinking about?

Actually, BJStrike is only for PowerPC Macs (which haven't been made for a few years -- all new Macs are Intel-based). Granted, a PPC program can run on an Intel Mac using Rosetta, but that is a simulator itself, and a blackjack simulator running inside a simulator is, well, slow. It also uses the TCL/TK widget set, which is not a native Mac user interface. Dare I say most people these days find it a little ugly.

Anyway, I guess I should qualify my statement and say that XXI is the only simulator specifically written for the newer Intel-based Macs, using the native Mac Cocoa user interface.

Thank you! The other formulas I had in mind are the ones for short-term risk of ruin and trip bankroll. Actually, BJA is so full of useful information and math that I'm sure something else will need to be added to the program in future versions as well.

XXI seems too simple. may be good for beginners.

I would use Knoppix Live CD to run BJStrike.
Tcl/Tk is pre-installed, and you can save settings of
BJStrike to hard disk without installing Knoppix and BJStrike to hard disk.
Knoppix Live CD is free.

I am using SBA on Windows XP and BJSTrike on Knoppix Live CD on one PC.
