MJ: CVCX Bet Ramp Odd Occurence
Norm,
Please see the link below. Why does CVCX decrease the bet from $500 to $450 as the count is rising?
One other unrelated question: For backcounting, why does SCORE remain unchanged if the minimum bet is fixed and the bet spread is increased? Note, I am not asking about WR.
I would appreciate an answer for both questions when you have a spare moment.
Thanks,
MJ

I can't answer how a computer comes up with a "typo," but it's obvious from the other numbers that the 2 x $500 should be 2 x $400.
Only Norm knows how that can actually appear like that on the screen! :-)
Don
P.S. "Occurrence" has two r's. :-)

When using Rational Bets and a Spread and it ends up with an intermediate bet of a number like $450 which is not rational, it "rationalizes" the number. It's trying to decide whether to ignore the spread or ignore the Rational setting which are contradictory goals and it's making two different decisions. I'll look into it. But it will have to ignore one of the settings.

I'd have to look at the situation. But off hand, increasing spread does not always increase SCORE when back-counting. Particularly with other limiting settings. The more limitations you put on CVCX (fixing bet multiples, fixing min bets, etc.) the more likely this will happen.
