BJinNJ: Best Computer Language for Sims?
What is the best language to use to write BJ sims?
I'm surprised that C++ has a strange treatment of
its random number generator.

Doesn't matter that much as long as it is modern. But, never use a compiler's RNG.

I presume you're implying that an algorithm can do a
better job than the compiler RNG.
BJ sim is just a reason to learn a new language, for me.
I have VB and VC++ available. ASM is fast, but tedious.
Every time I learn a new language, it immediately becomes
outdated!

Compilers use linear congruential generators. They are unacceptable for simulations for many reasons. VB and VC++ are both acceptable languages. They use the same final compiler.

VB is interesting because it interfaces with Excel.
C++ is of interest because of its ubiquitousness.
Ooops, ubiquity!
Thanks for all the xlnt info.
