Gordon Gekko: Trackjack
The instant user updates (I assume they post in realtime)sound very cool. I'm wondering though how often the casino information is updated by RGE reporters? Is every casino visited and updated monthly or do they only target casinos that haven't been updated in a while?
Thanks

The user updates go through moderation (to ensure that no inaccurate info gets into the database), so their posting may be delayed a few minutes to a few hours.
The original concept of Trackjack was for it to be primarily user-driven. We do not yet have a large enough subscriber database to provide up-to-date info for all areas, so we supplement that data with info from a variety of other sources, with which I update the database (I am the editor of Trackjack).
I tend to concentrate on Las Vegas, since that is where the most interest lies, but many of our subscribers work hard at keeping the casinos in their own areas up-to-date.
Note that Trackjack is worldwide, not just the US. We have a lot of info on foreign casinos that is not widely available anywhere else.

This is fine, but I question how "up-to-date" it is by just having user input. I'm sure you've thought of paying a "modest" sum for reporters, ala, CBJN. With Trackjack you have a big advantage over CBJN...that is, anyone can add comments at any time. Add that to a "regular" reporter making monthly changes, you have the best system, possible. I believe your subscriber base would increase with such a system.
I'd be willing to do the Reno/Tahoe report myself.
Please don't take this as a negative for Trackjack. I am only saying this to make Trackjack even BETTER than what it already is...

We have indeed considered this, and in fact are not opposed to paying for reports (although don't expect to retire on it). However, the last time I floated the idea, we got zero response.

Cool. Please drop Viktor or me an e-mail, so we can work out the details.

No problem. Comments and constructive criticism are always welcome and appreciated.
