    MJ: CVBJ 4 Feedback

    Norm,

I just downloaded the demo for CVBJ 4. Looks good! Thanks for implementing my suggestions as well as those of other users. I like the new dealer errors and the 6 spot table. I am still evaluating the features...there are just so many!

I was working on the discard drills and noticed something. The angle with which the discard tray is displayed is from the perspective of a player sitting around 2nd base. I like to sit at third base so this way I can easily see the other players cards in the casino. In reality, my view of the discard rack is entirely different then the one in the software. Same goes for a player sitting at 1st base.

Did you ever consider setting up a feature where the player can rotate the discard rack 360 degrees by 360 degrees with the mouse? This way the view can be adjusted to suit the player's perspective. It is kinda like viewing a car through an internet site...you just click on the car and drag to view different angles. If this is too complex to employ, at least give the user some different angles to select from rather then just use one angle. I realize you can randomize the view, but that just moves the rack up and down on my screen...not exactly what I am looking for.

For full table drills, try and set it up so there are no cards displayed vertically at 1st and 3rd base. That just isn't realistic. If that means you have to use smaller cards so be it. Just curious, why not use the full screen as opposed to the upper half of the screen? Also, when the user selects the number of hands to be displayed, it would probably be better to include an option where the hands are displayed at random seats(if there are less then 6 hands dealt). In a casino, hands are not always played right next to each other.

For the TC conversion drill, it would be even better if you restricted it to just displaying an RC and giving the # of decks remaining w/out even showing the discard rack(as another user suggested). Some of us just want to test our math ability in a simple and pure format. It would be great if we could just type in our TC and press enter rather then have to locate it with the mouse. The guys over at Blackjack Institute have a great and simple piece of software that tests for TC conversion. Ask MIT Mike about it. That is more or less what I have in mind.

Oh one last thing. I seem to be experiencing a few "run time" errors where the software automatically shuts itself off and I am returned to the desktop. This never occured when I used CVBJ 3. Then again, I just got a new laptop but I doubt that is the source of the problem.

    Thanks for listening,

    -MJ

The car sites work with a fixed image. The tray is animated. It would take a massive amount of space to create a rotating image of every penetration. I had thought of addig a couple of perspectives. Even that would greatly increase the download.

This will be redone in ultra-real graphics when I get a chance.

    That's doable. Perhaps random seats.

    That's possible.

That's serious. I need to know exactly what you did before seeing this. Also do FILE-BACKUP and send me the file created. This contains all your options.
