norm,
suggestions.
could you include a discard tray for the 7 player format? I'm speaking of the one that's not as real to life. I find that one works better for practicing backcounting but it just needs a discard tray so that we know how much of the deck has been depleted. the only way now is to check the stats after each round. also, this is similar to the "instant replay" suggestion, it would be nice if we could check the previous rounds starting running or true count. this way we can hit the "show last hand" button and find our mistake.
glad to hear you are changing to the diagonal layout, like mj I often get confused with the 6 and 9 when it gets really fast.
thanks for a great product.

Not sure I understand. There is a new six player format that has the lifelike discard tray. Not sure I understand the point of backcounting when there are seven players since there is no open seat

That's a good idea.

well I shouldn't have called it backcounting, I never enter the game on that board. I simply use it as a medium for practicing my high speed counting since thats the way I will be counting in real life. thats why it would be nice to have a discard tray on that screen. ........when I practice playing I play heads up on the "real life" screen. the point is, when I practice counting, I use that screen that does not have the discard tray so I can practice counting down a deck with a full table. I hope that makes more sense.

MJ: Another suggestion
For the BS and counting drills(including full table), it would be great if the graphic quality of the cards displayed is the same as that in ultra real mode. The cards with just numbers look fine, but the cards with a picture look sorta cartoonish.
The best cards to drill with are those that look like REAL cards.
Just trying to make your already great software even better!

Norm Wattenberger: Ya know
I received a lot of criticism when I went to the ultra-real cards Many people liked the crispness of the old cards and they probably turn off many. They are also used to them since that is the style used by 99% of programs. I like the new cards because they are vastly more realistic. I've been sticking with the old style for the drills as they are more designed for memorization and calculation while the game is designed for realism. But, eventually I will merge the concepts.

ES: 2 Suggestions
1. Make it less likely to confuse 6s and 9s, as suggested above.
2. A drill on keeping count of the running count and one's hand's total simultaneously.

Ahh, that's the game. I've always considered the game a combniation drill. But this does make me think of another type of drill that might give you what you want.

Not just for CVBJ but for the whole CV suite, it'd be nice if monetary amounts were displayed according to the OS's regional settings. An extension of this would be the ability to customise the color and denomination of chips. And any other L10N and I18N issues.

Norm Wattenberger: Re: Localisation
CVData does this using symbols for international currancy and correct use of spaces, commas and points. Also, dates are displayed differently by country. I think I'll add this to CVBJ.
There are some chip variations but not enough. I've been thinking of replacing the chips for a long time. Quite difficult to get realistic chips that can be animated and display correctly over diferent backgrounds.

Norm Wattenberger: Don will be happy
CVBJ V4 will use this format if he switches his region to France: "123.456.789,00 ?" or this in Monaco: "123 456 789,00 ?" or in French Switzerland:
"SFr. 123'456'789.00" or French Candian:
"123 456 789,00 $"

Great. CVData does seem pretty good apart from the payoffs button being a big dollar sign (check out what Excel does to its Currency toolbar button if your currency symbol is something other than '$'). CVCX still needs some work though.

If I changed regional settings would I have to restart CVBJ for this to take effect?
If I was in the US and chose a non-US casino from the casino database, could CVBJ (optionally) use the currency settings from the non-US locale without me having to change regional settings? That would be a nice authentic touch.
