    MJ: CVCX Question: Multiple Hands

    Norm,

Is it possible to configure the optimal betting schedule so that it will display the bet for one hand in negative counts and 2 hands in positive counts rather then 2 hands being played in both positive and negative counts? What is the point of playing multiple hands in negative counts? Thanks.

    Norm Wattenberger: Two things

First, no this is not possible post sim as the TC frequencies are changed by changing number of hands. However, I do have an idea of how to create CVCX sims that will accurately give these answers and will work on it.

Secondly, a reason that you want to bet two hands in negative counts is to avoid these TC frequency changes. If you switch to two hands when the count is positive, you reduce the frequency of high TCs.

    MJ: One other question

Is it possible to configure a Hi-Lo SIM so that the number of units bet is determined by TC-1? The reason you would subtract 1 is to take the house's advantage into account.

Well, a main purpose of CVCX is creation of optimal bets. TC-1 is not optimal. You can force the bets to what you want using Custom Bets. Download the latest version first as I made this easier.

    MJ: CVCX Update

I downloaded and installed V3.0.59 of CVCX and reset my pc. However, when I open the program is still says V3.0.58. I am currently running the demo version. Can the demo version not be updated?

Doesn't matter much if you're running the demo. The results are purposely adulterated.

I have been having difficulty with this same issue, High table minimums make it too risky to play 2 hands all the time, so i usually wait until tc 1 or 2 to enter or increase to 2 hands. By the way, I downloaded the update and now the custom bets feature doesn't work, if i try to change the custom bet, the program changes to 1 unit, even if I enter 2 hands?

Ahh, I hadn't written two hand custom bet support. Just finished it and put up a new update.

So how does the cvdata simulation deal with the changing tc frequency of switching from 1 to 2 hands frequently?

Also a cvcx question : When I set the backcounting to -1 it says that i am playing 100% of hands seen, but what about the rest of the hands that are not being played when the truncated count is -1.1 or worse? If i set the sim to floored tc, it would be at -1 most of the time, no?

CVData allows extremely complex bet strategy definition before the sim. CVCX has no betting strategies. It recalculates post-sim based on simple (primarily optimal) betting.

You would have to rerunte sim with a lower starting TC range. CVCX does not keep all hands by TC. If keeps them in the specified range and bunches those lower or higher then the range in the border TCs.
