APWannabe: Help! My laptop computer will not power on

I use my Gateway notebook computer daily to practice CVBJ on. Lastnight I bought a new LogicTech mouse, and after I loaded the mouse driver on, then I reset my laptop, it won't turn on, battery is fully charged, and AC won't work either, the AC LED won't turn on when it's plugged in. Somehow the Battery LED is alway on it won't go off and I cannot turn it on. Do any of you know how I can fix this problem? Thank-You.

So what you're saying is that it is completely dead? Absolutely nothing happens when you hit the power switch, no LED's light up, nothing on the screen, no noise, no nothing?

This is very bad, and almost certainly a hardware problem. About all you can do is make sure that the outlet you're plugging it into is live, and remove & re-install the battery. Also, somewhere on the laptop is a reset button, usually in a small hole that you push with a straightened paper clip. If that doesn't do it, then it is time to either take it to a local repair facility, or pack it up and send it to Gateway.
