OK, I used the default SBA sim settings except for: 1 deck, 39 cards dealt, 10 billion rounds. I let the sim run for 5 minutes and then looked at the time remaining: 6 hours 37 minutes.
I then rebooted and turned HT off. After running the same sim for 5 minutes, the time remaining was 4 hours 56 minutes.
It appears that a) my computer is faster than your computer :-P and b) hyperthreading degrades SBA performance. Apparently this isn't that unusual - here's a link to an article that shows the same thing for DivX encoding. I also noticed that SBA doesn't get to 100% CPU usage; perhaps this is significant.
Let me know if you want to do any further testing.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Have you tried with another software like say CVData? I hope we don't have the same degradation here.
I also tried some other things in order to improve speed like overclocking my CPU by a 10%.

PS: And yes, your computer is 0.2 (3.2 - 3.0) times faster
