bfbagain: MS finally does something right..

    MAYBE.

Some may or may not know (or care) that I am not a fan of ALL, that's right, all....anti-spyware, adaware, or any other virtual trojan horse garbage masquerading as protection against browser hijacks, popups, adware blockers, etc..

Maybe it's because the target is Microsoft, that I have more faith if Microsoft was the one actually writing the code to secure its own software, but that's exactly what I have....at least for the moment. And I'm no fan of Redmond.

That said, they have just released, as a beta 1, their new antispyware software.

I have used it on three badly infected systems, and it has worked better than expected.

To download it, click the link below. You may be impressed. I was.

    cheers

    Radar: Thanks for the Info

Thanks for the info, I am scanning my system with it now and curious as to what it finds in addition to other software I use.

Yes, I run it and all my system was disinfected from bad software. Now I have no more Windows

Now seriously, I will give it a try.

    Sincerely,

    I don't. :-)

However, I suppose one cannot have too many tools. As I have posted before, I use Ad-Aware, Spybot: Search & Destroy and Spywareblaster on my Windows 2000 systems.

First, I updated those and ran them. Ad-Aware found nothing, Spybot found 1 registry entry, which I corrected.

Then I installed the Microsoft program and ran it. It didn't find any additional spyware.

I thought the interface looked somewhat crude and bland compared to Ad-Aware and Spybot, but it was straightforward enough.

I wonder if the final version will be free.
