Scott: Integer values in normal life numbers

Has anyone ever noticed themselves applying the integer value they use at the tables in normal life? For example the other day when dialing my Mom's phone number all the sudded it came to me her number is +7. I've started noticing when I see numbers on signs or other things I count them without meaning to.

Back when I still ran Windows on my computers, I'd always look at the "Windows 95" splash screen (yeah, it's been that long), and think to myself, "+2" (level 2 count).

When I'm driving down the highway and pass a "Speed Limit 65 MPH" sign, I can't help thinking, "+4".

Maybe I need to take a break from the game. :-)

    DOUBLE DOWN!

Sorry, I guess I do that too. I LOVE to see that count-spiking 6,5 double down. I actually begin to drool on the table sometimes.

More often than count values, I've noticed that I will be finding TCs. Since I play mostly DD and calculate TCs by full decks, I often end up having to multiply the RC by .75 in order to get a more accurate reading. When I buy something for $8 I will often think "+6...top bet." At first I did it for practice, but now it just stuck.

I think the most annoying thing for me is the running count "mantra" that gets stuck in my head. I was Wonging around a local casino about two weeks ago. After cashing out I walked out of the casino, into the parking lot, got into my car, left the garage and got back on the road. I was about 500 feet away from the casino when I heard my brain saying "-8, -8, -8, -8". It was the RC of the last shoe I Wonged out of! There have been MANY times when I've caught brain repeating this RC mantra long after I've left the tables.
