Jackie Chiles: Any news on Lake Tahoe casinos

I would appreciate hearing from anybody who has played blackjack at the Lake Tahoe casinos in the recent past. Just standard stuff: number of decks, rules, penetration, table limits, heat, etc. Thanks for any help.

There is D10 SD available and some deeply dealt shoe games, but you'll find much better opportunities in the Carson City and Reno/Sparks areas.

I was there at Christmas. Didn't play much but checked it out. I can't tell you much about heat.
You can probably expect it to be pretty crowded this time of year especially the weekends. All of the big casinos have some single deck games with Reno rules H17 D10 (mainly RO6) although the table minimums are generally higher than Reno/Sparks. Unfortunately 6:5 single deck tables outnumber real single deck games by a wide margin especially at the Harrahs owned places. Most of the DD games are NDAS and many are also D9 or D8. Usually one deck cut off. There are several 6 deck games. H17 DAS but no late surrender that I saw. Some have good pen.

Jackie Chiles: Thanks AutomaticMonkey and Trapper

    A.M. and Trapper:

Thanks for the guidance. I wasn't expecting anything great at Tahoe, but I am going to go because of a really good comp deal that I can't say "no" to. If it weren't for that I'd just stay in Clark County. If I'm lucky I'll hold my own and enjoy the trip.

Trapper: You will enjoy Lake Tahoe

It is one of the nicest spots I've seen in the US. Lots to see all around the lake. The blackjack might not be as good as Reno but there is probably more playable single deck in Stateline than there is in Las Vegas (though with worse rules).
