For POKER LA is one of the best places anywhere, even better than Vegas...try the Commerce Casino, which has over 100 tables going almost always, from $1/$2 limit hold 'em up to $200/$400 No Limit, Stud 7, Stud 5, Omaha Hi-Lo; also the Bicycle Club is good.

For Blackjack in LA slim pickings, unless you know how to play the No Bust version...closest for conventional blackjack is in San Bernadino, the San Manuel Casino, which has low quality shoe game...best go down to Palm Springs and try the Aqua Caliente, SPA or Sobota, which have playable shoes at red/green level...for black action, the Barona in San Diego...

Of the above, the Barona & SPA are classy...

In live poker, unlike blackjack, you play against the other players, rather than the house. Thus, your edge is determined by your skill at the game relative to the skill of the other players at the table.

Sorry, I'm a little dense today. SPA is the acronym for which casino?

It's not an acronym. He's referring to the Spa Resort Casino in downtown Palm Springs (if Palm Springs can be said to have a downtown). This is about the only CA Indian casino that I'm aware of that is not in a remote location in the middle of nowhere.

another casino is trump....I mean Spotlight 29 casino (I think trump bankrupted the casino so they changed their name). its farther out then agua, but they got 2 dollar tables, but you only can play one spot. they only got one pit so if your back counting, you can't circle more than once. spotlight and soboba have the best rules, then agua..everything else sucks.

Been a while but the last time I was there it was perhaps 10 tables. Friendly but very smokey place, heat came in the form of half shoeing after I stayed too long but the results were good.

Cashing out is probably better when done in segments. The cage will call the pit on anything over $1000.

Wanabe: Best for green BJ and VP

Which would you suggest I stay at. I'm a green chipper and also play good VP (mostly progressives). I would be looking for a room and food comp. What kind of action do they need?

    Thanks,
