Sun Runner: SD minimums -from Heartland 21

    > (San Diego area) a little crowded and minimums a little high though

The minimums in SD seem high(ish) to me.

Are all those rich folk in La Jolla, Del Mar, and the Ranch playing BJ. Are they drawing from the rich and famous in the LA area?

Or do all the regular folk make that kinda money? I know a lot of the regular folk there -they don't all do that well!

    What is it?

There is still somewhat of a supply & demand situation in San Diego. Why should a casino offer $5 tables on a Saturday night, when all the tables are packed with minimums of $15 & up?

There likely will be at least 3 more casinos opening in the county in next few years, and the existing casinos are haggling with the Governator to get the 2000 machine slot limit lifted. So, the situation is likely to improve.

There is also a "convenience cost." Viejas is right off I-8, and Pala is just 6 miles east of I-15. Consequently, these places tend to have higher minimums than the more remote casinos. You can always find $5 shoes (and S17 at that) at Golden Acorn, 65 miles east of town, near . . . well actually it's not near anything.

To some degree, yes. The casinos, especially those in the northern part of the county, get considerable action from LA and Orange County.

What do you mean? Nearly everyone in San Diego has a huge bankroll. They got it from re-financing their homes.

All that being said, it is still no problem to find $5 shoe games in San Diego, if you don't mind driving a few extra miles.

I actually found a $5 shoe at Barona last night about midnight - the crowd thinned out about 3am!
